Red, White & Blue, the music of America, is the first recording produced by Organ Stop featuring an exclusively American/Patriotic theme. Patrons, especially in recent years, have requested more and more patriotic music, thus this album seemed extremely appropriate for our times.

This collection of music spans the 200+ years of “Americana,” and reflects the great diversity of our musical heritage, from soulful Simple Gifts up to the jubilant Stars and Stripes Forever. As is typical of Charlie Balogh’s artistry, this album becomes a showcase for presenting concert quality arrangements, as well as the endless musical colors present in the Organ Stop Wurlitzer. Over a year went into the planning, preparation, recording and production of this project. We sincerely hope you will be pleased with our results.

Organ Stop is open to the general public seven days a week. Business hours change seasonally.

Closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas day we are open every other day of the year. As a general guideline, business hours are as follows:

Thanksgiving through Mid-April:

Sunday – Thursday 4pm-9pm
Friday – Saturday 4pm-10pm

Mid-April through Thanksgiving:

Sunday – Thursday 5pm-9pm
Friday – Saturday 5pm-10pm

Note: The kitchen closes 15 minutes before posted closing time.

The organ music always starts 30 minutes after our scheduled opening time, and continues throughout the evening until closing.

The Mighty Wurlitzer

Organ Stop’s Wurlitzer theatre organ was built for the Denver Theatre and was installed in 1927. The organ was used regularly until the early 1930s. With the advent of the talking picture and the 1930s depression, the organ was rarely heard. It was silenced when a fire in the auditorium caused extensive damage to the organ’s relay.

In the theatre, the organ was a style 260, having a three-manual console and 15 ranks/sets of pipes. Organ Stop purchased the instrument in the early 1970s and undertook the mammoth task of rebuilding the instrument. Several additions were made to the instrument by acquiring parts from other ill-fated Wurlitzers. The resulting 23 rank organ was installed in our original facility in 1975.
